1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs the use of all Dprime Hosting services. All customers must comply with this policy. Violation of this policy may result in service suspension or termination without refund.

2. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited on our servers:

  • Illegal content under Australian law
  • Child exploitation material of any kind
  • Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Malware, viruses, or other malicious software
  • Phishing websites or fraudulent content
  • Content promoting violence, terrorism, or hate speech
  • Unauthorized copies of copyrighted material
  • Adult content (unless on a specifically designated server)

3. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are not permitted:

  • Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
  • Operating open mail relays or proxy servers
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems
  • DDoS attacks or participation in botnets
  • Port scanning or network probing
  • Cryptocurrency mining without prior approval
  • Running IRC bots or servers without approval
  • Excessive resource usage that impacts other customers

4. Fair Usage Policy

Our shared hosting plans are designed for typical website hosting. Fair usage guidelines include:

  • CPU usage should not exceed 25% of server capacity for extended periods
  • RAM usage should remain within your plan's allocation
  • Disk I/O should not consistently impact other users
  • Database connections should be optimized and not excessive
  • Email sending should comply with anti-spam best practices

Accounts consistently exceeding fair usage may be asked to upgrade to a higher plan or VPS/dedicated server.

5. Email Usage

Email accounts must be used responsibly:

  • Maximum 500 emails per hour for shared hosting
  • All email lists must be opt-in with verifiable consent
  • Unsubscribe mechanisms must be functional and honored
  • Accurate sender information must be used
  • Purchased email lists are not permitted

6. Security Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Keeping all software, scripts, and applications updated
  • Using strong, unique passwords
  • Securing any installed applications (WordPress, etc.)
  • Monitoring their account for unauthorized activity
  • Reporting any security concerns promptly

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend services immediately for serious violations
  • Remove content that violates this policy
  • Terminate accounts for repeated violations
  • Report illegal activity to appropriate authorities
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations

We will attempt to notify customers before taking action when possible, except in cases of serious or illegal violations.

8. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to abuse@dprimehosting.au. Include as much detail as possible including URLs, timestamps, and any relevant evidence.
